Kristen Nunery

Kristen Nunery is the founder and CEO of myCOI, the leader in third-party insurance compliance management. She defines the company’s strategic direction, drives innovation through AI-powered technology, and leads a customer-first culture that empowers organizations to reduce risk and achieve compliance with confidence and clarity.
Kristen founded myCOI in 2009, driven by a personal understanding of how gaps in insurance coverage can create significant challenges and disruption. This perspective became the foundation for myCOI’s mission: helping organizations protect themselves and their partners from unnecessary risks. Today, the company’s flagship platform, illumend, reinvents compliance by streamlining every step of the third-party process—from document analysis and expiration tracking to intelligent alerts and industry-specific guidance. Designed with intuitive language, empathetic design and thoughtful automation, illumend empowers non-specialists across administrative, HR, finance and operations teams to manage complex requirements with ease.
Under Kristen’s leadership, myCOI has grown into a trusted partner for leading organizations in construction, real estate, government, utilities and other industries. With 15 years of industry insight, her team has transformed compliance from a manual, time-consuming, reactive process into a proactive, intuitive, AI-powered workflow.
A serial entrepreneur, Kristen started her first business while still in college and later built a successful residential real estate investment portfolio. She brings a competitive, growth-oriented mindset honed from years as an athlete and her active involvement in leadership organizations such as the Indiana Chapter of YPO (Young Presidents’ Organization). Through YPO, she also completed an executive education program that helped inspire the creation of illumend. Kristen serves on the Indianapolis Zoo Advisory Council, aligning her entrepreneurial spirit with her passion for innovation with conservation and community engagement.
Kristen graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree from the School of Communications at Northern Arizona University, where she also received commercial photography training. Kristen also attended Miami University. A lifelong sports enthusiast, she has played flag football, basketball, and volleyball. She lives in Indianapolis, Indiana, with her family.
Jana Brost

Jana Brost is the chief operating officer of myCOI, the leader in third-party insurance compliance management. A proven entrepreneur and operator, she drives myCOI’s operational strategy and oversees cross-functional execution, ensuring a seamless customer experience at scale.
With more than a decade of experience founding and scaling technology companies, Jana brings a rare blend of operational rigor, product vision and people-first leadership. At myCOI, she is instrumental in advancing illumend, the company’s next-generation compliance platform. She collaborates closely with customers and internal teams to build intuitive, AI-native tools that empower non-specialists to navigate complex compliance requirements confidently, turning what was once an administrative burden into a smarter, more human experience. Prior to myCOI, Jana co-founded and served as CEO of StarLifter, a no-code analytics platform purpose-built for revenue operations teams. She led the company from pre-revenue through launch and general availability, focusing on turnkey applications for RevOps teams. Jana also co-founded and served as president and CEO of analytic.li, a workforce analytics platform acquired by Novi Group, where she helped organizations turn HR and payroll into actionable insights.
Earlier in her career, Jana served as president of Beyond Payroll, a provider of HR software products, where she oversaw all finance, go-to-market and human capital management. Her leadership guided the company through its acquisition of ADP. Jana earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Butler University and has served on its Board of Trustees since 2017. Based in Indianapolis with her family, she is a passionate advocate for mentorship and finding purpose through impact.
