Plenty of tools can track when a certificate expires.
illumend, from myCOI, was built by the people who spent 16 years doing compliance work in the construction industry.
That depth is why Lumie reads the endorsements that actually decide whether you're covered, and why illumend fits teams that have outgrown spreadsheets.

Procore gives you somewhere to record insurance. Every commitment has an Insurance tab with fields for policy type, status, policy number and expiration date, and you can store the certificate on the record. What Procore doesn't do is read that certificate or decide whether the coverage meets your requirements. Someone on your team still opens the PDF, checks the limits and the endorsements, and types the result in. That review is the part illumend automates, and the answer lands back in the same Insurance tab.
Yes. illumend connects to your Procore account, reads your commitments and subcontractor details, and writes compliance status back into the commitment's Insurance tab. You open illumend from the commitment you're already looking at, so nobody re-keys a certificate or works out of a second system.
A certificate of insurance is a one-page summary of a trade partner's coverage: which policies they carry, what the limits are, and when they expire. On a project it's the document that shows a subcontractor is covered before they set foot on site. The certificate on its own doesn't prove much, though. The endorsement forms behind it are what decide whether you're actually named as an additional insured, whether the coverage is primary and non-contributory, and whether subrogation has been waived. That's why reading only the expiration date leaves you exposed.
illumend keeps the compliance status on the commitment current, and your team uses it the way you already gate payment in Procore. Because the status sits on the subcontract record rather than in a separate tracker, accounting can see that a trade partner isn't covered before a pay application goes out. illumend supplies the answer. Procore holds the payment.
You need two things: an active Procore account, and illumend for insurance compliance. Book a demo and we'll show you the integration inside a real Procore workflow, then set up the connection with your team. There's nothing for anyone to install or configure on their own.
